My name is Ianthia D’Silva. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and have completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP). I believe that therapy should be as unique as the person seeking it, which is why I use an integrative approach tailored to each client’s needs. Drawing from different psychological theories and research to support you in building resilience, embracing authenticity, and fostering deeper, more fulfilling relationships, through growth. As a counsellor I am committed to help you understand your story, after all, you are the only one to truly understand your life and experiences. Whether it is navigating your daily stressors, friendships/ relationships or immigrant experiences, I am here to listen, guide and support you as you work through them. I strive to create a welcoming space where people from all walks of life feel seen, heard, and valued. No matter your background, identity, or experiences, you are welcome here. Together we can work to reveal and discover your truest self.
Background:
I am a client-focused psychotherapist who is passionate about supporting individuals through challenges such as anxiety, burnout, depression, stress management, identity development, and relationship concerns, alongside working with athletes and high performers.
I utilize an integrative approach that combines trauma-informed, evidence- informed and culturally responsive practices to meet the clients where they are. This allows me to tailor interventions/ approaches to teach person’s unique strengths, experiences, and cultural context, whether in a single session or across longer-term therapy. By Drawing on diverse modalities I aim to create a safe, collaborative space that supports healing, growth, and sustainable change.
I believe that each one of us has a unique story to tell, one that has set us a part from the rest, where our experiences are a roadmap of our story. As a second- generation South Asian immigrant, and retired varsity athlete, I can understand the external and internal pressures that can be faced daily. The need to prove yourself, to be perfect, self-doubt or even the exhaustion faced daily. Showing up for yourself can seem so difficult. Together we can find the best ways to help you build practical and effective skills and strategies to help manage your stress, emotions and everyday struggles.

Miss Sadaf Sheikh
I wear many hats professionally. I am an MD, MACP, RP(q), a Clinical Researcher, a Project Management Professional, a Professor at George Brown College, previously an instructor for 15 years at UofT and a family oriented female.
I am also a published author of a few medical research n the Journal of American College of Cardiology, International Diabetes Federation and the Journal of European Society of Cardiology.
I have a number of years worth of work experience in mental health. I have taken care of clients in the in-patient and out-patient settings. I have research experience in mental health as we screened for depression/anxiety in postpartum females and assisted them in a setting where psychoeducation was provided to them and their family members.
I believe in providing a non-judgmental and safe space for people to share. It is important to customize care for each of my clients. This is because everyone is unique and has unique circumstances.
There are mental health workshop engagements which I conduct. Some topics I cover are stress management, relationship management, good communication skills and Applied Suicide Interventions Skills training (ASIST). ASIST is a very powerful workshop that allows for anybody who gets certified in it to be able to do suicide first aid. Just like CPR certification is common within our general public and communities, there is a need for suicide first aid to be common as well.
I have conducted the ASIST program at the Centre for Deen Studies and have delivered a workshop in spiritual counselling and mental health by Dr. Hamid Slimi. I have speaking engagements in schools and corporate organizations who recognize that mental health should no longer be stigmatized, rather it should be spoken about.
My aim is to build stronger communities through my compassion to educate and bring awareness to mental health and de-stigmatize it.
