BSc., MACP (Cand.), Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University, building on my Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences (Honours) from McMaster University. With a strong foundation in health and the sciences, my academic journey has fueled my passion for understanding the complexities of human behavior.
My Background
My personal experiences have deeply shaped my empathetic and client-centered approach. Having navigated challenging circumstances from a young age, I developed a resilient mindset and a profound understanding of how life’s adversities can impact mental health. These experiences have driven my desire to help others find their strength and achieve emotional well-being.
As a therapist in training, I understand that deciding to pursue therapy and connecting with a therapist can be a difficult step. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel heard, supported, and comfortable. I’m easy to talk to, and my goal is to ensure that by the end of each session, you leave feeling that it was a worthwhile and empowering experience.
Whether you’re navigating a difficult time or simply need someone to talk to, I’m here for you. Together, we’ll work through the challenges, uncover the root causes of emotional and behavioral patterns, and guide you toward personal growth and becoming the best version of yourself. Let me be the person you can rely on as we work toward your emotional well-being.

Life these days can be overwhelming. It’s okay to ask for help. We do it all the time don’t we? When moving a heavy table or starting a new project, we ask those around us to lend a hand. Life can be heavy sometimes and everyone deserves help. Whether you’d like to explore relationships, school, work, or want to process a traumatic event, I’m here to listen. If there’s something you’ve been navigating throughout your life that you’ve never been able to weather, we can assemble a cradle full of tools that are individually tailored to your needs. I believe everyone has strengths, and we will pull from yours during therapy.
We can focus on the present, taking note of emotions, thoughts, and behaviours that you may be encountering. We could also dive into the past, drawing a map detailing how you got to be the person that you are today. Both the direction and pace of change is in your hands.
We can work together towards building a therapeutic relationship where vulnerability is welcome. It will be a judgement free atmosphere. If you feel like you need a break, want to snack, or move around during session, I totally support that. You can reach out to me for a free consultation to see if we might be a good fit.

Through connection, we share experiences, emotions, and stories that unlock a deeper understanding of our feelings, guiding us toward healing and growth. This bond empowers us to nurture meaningful relationships, offering invaluable emotional support and comfort. I am committed to inspiring individuals to embrace a healthier perspective and a more positive attitude toward life.
Having earned a degree in psychology from York University in 2022, I have had the privilege of applying my knowledge to gain deeper insights into human behaviour. This understanding enables me to create thoughtful strategies that support individuals on their mental health journeys and help them navigate personal challenges.
With two decades of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, I have cultivated a person-centred, collaborative, and empathetic approach to mental health. I understand that everyone has unique support needs when facing life’s challenges. The fast-paced nature of our world can significantly impact mental well-being. By embracing a person-centred approach, I empower individuals to recognize their inner strength and uncover solutions within themselves.
This understanding has led me to prioritize the creation of a safe and welcoming environment where individuals can explore their feelings without fear of judgment. I believe that mental health is intricately linked to our thoughts, emotions, and actions and that negative patterns can entrap us in unhelpful cycles. Through my training, I have come to appreciate the importance of Emotional Focus Therapy in helping clients connect with their emotions and make sense of their experiences.
Furthermore, I highly value the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which highlight the significance of navigating challenges with self-compassion and a constructive mindset. By breaking down overwhelming challenges into more manageable parts, I strive to guide my clients toward meaningful change and personal growth.

Miss Sadaf Sheikh
I wear many hats professionally. I am an MD, MACP, RP(q), a Clinical Researcher, a Project Management Professional, a Professor at George Brown College, previously an instructor for 15 years at UofT and a family oriented female.
I am also a published author of a few medical research n the Journal of American College of Cardiology, International Diabetes Federation and the Journal of European Society of Cardiology.
I have a number of years worth of work experience in mental health. I have taken care of clients in the in-patient and out-patient settings. I have research experience in mental health as we screened for depression/anxiety in postpartum females and assisted them in a setting where psychoeducation was provided to them and their family members.
I believe in providing a non-judgmental and safe space for people to share. It is important to customize care for each of my clients. This is because everyone is unique and has unique circumstances.
There are mental health workshop engagements which I conduct. Some topics I cover are stress management, relationship management, good communication skills and Applied Suicide Interventions Skills training (ASIST). ASIST is a very powerful workshop that allows for anybody who gets certified in it to be able to do suicide first aid. Just like CPR certification is common within our general public and communities, there is a need for suicide first aid to be common as well.
I have conducted the ASIST program at the Centre for Deen Studies and have delivered a workshop in spiritual counselling and mental health by Dr. Hamid Slimi. I have speaking engagements in schools and corporate organizations who recognize that mental health should no longer be stigmatized, rather it should be spoken about.
My aim is to build stronger communities through my compassion to educate and bring awareness to mental health and de-stigmatize it.
